When I received my understanding...
I know I have always had a connection to stones but one event shall forever stand in my
memory and was the indication that I had a special connection with the earth. I was a
child under the age of seven when my family went on a trip with my grandparents. There was
a lake (or perhaps river) and a cabin that we all stayed in. I was alone walking the road
that went around the water. I became transfixed on the variety of rocks, walking slower
and slower, trying to see and understand how many different rocks I saw. I still
remember my excitement at all the different shapes and colors. Then it was like someone
called to me because I lifted my eyes from my enjoyment and saw a glittering twinkle in
the road ahead of me. I watched the sparkling light as I walked toward the point that
glimmered in the road. This light that I was being drawn toward seemed like it was coming
from something large and even alive. As I came closer I found that large point of light
was coming from a small rock, about the size of a marble. That beautiful light from a rock
in the road! I picked up that rock and found myself fascinated with it. I told my miracle
story to all the adults, for hours, about how this little rock could make so much light,
but they just couldn't see the light like I could. To them, it was nothing more than a
rock I had found on the road, they even told me to throw it out, and leave them alone
about it. I finally relented, and acted like I threw it out, but they caught me
playing with it in the light, trying to get it to glow again. Later that night, my
grandmother helped me wash the rock and clean it up. I fell asleep playing with that rock.
A couple weeks later, my grandmother actually had it polished and made into a necklace for
me; an ordinary looking brown rock with a bit of quartz in it. I still have that 'rock'
today. And yes, I had rock collections and retained my fascination with 'rocks'. As I
learned more about stones, gems, crystals, and minerals I found myself giving them to
people for certain problems they were having. Most of them had no idea it wasn't just a
necklace or keychain. But their problems lessened and soon people figured it out and
actually requested that I tell them what kind of stone to purchase or asked that I give
them a stone to help them in some way or another. cry

I do not feel strong vibrations from stones as some people do. Instead, I feel a presence
of energy and a connection to a person. When I select a stone for someone (even people I
don't know) I ask for guidance to direct me to the stone that will assist them the most. I
concentrate/pray/meditate on what I know of the person and the problem(s) they are having.
I already know the general types of stones/crystals/minerals/gems I am going to get but
selecting the one(s) that will work best for that particular person is most important.
When I have the right one for them I know because the stone feels extra warm or I get a
tingle, tiny shock, or a voice that I hear shouting at me that I have the one for that
