WEATHER & OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: You are required to bring your own blankets, mats, rugs, or pillows for outdoor seating. General weather conditions in July in and around the Condon Valley can range from 90ºF to 40ºF, and this can be in the same day. This is normally the beginning of the dry season but mountain stream flooding is still possible; streams and rivers can be extremely swift and very cold and water levels can change quickly. Many of the activities are to be held out doors or in a natural setting. SN is not responsible for alterations and/or cancellations of events due to weather conditions or 'Acts of God'. Since this is a valley in between two mountains the weather can change a lot. Storms either go up one side of the mountain and totally cross over the valley or it can drop down into the valley. A VOLUNTEER IS NEEDED to stay with Avea's mother (Wanda) when Avea is busy at Holland Falls and again during the Flowers of Montana. Most of the time Wanda will be attending the events but during these times she would be unable to since she has had several stokes and is limited to a wheel chair. Avea would like someone to sit with her as it is best that someone is always at the house in case of an emergency. We know that not everyone will be wanting to attend all the events and are in hopes to find a volunteer to site with her. If you would be so kind to volunteer, it would be appreciated. Please note we expect that there will be several volunteers for this and it would be an excellent time to sit, relax, and have coffee at Avea's place.
A day of blending pagan and native beliefs in the Rainbow Tribe and ULEK way. Nature based practices have strong feelings about the directions (North, South, East and West) and Mother Earth and Father Sky. No matter what your religion is I am sure you will find the information entertaining as well as an expansion of your understandings. This day offers you the opportunity to learn about both of the most commonly used principles of the directions and colors used in nature based practices from a Pagan aspect and a Native American aspect.
After lunch we will be exploring how nature based practices respect and receive messages and understanding from animals. The circle and the wheel both believe that each of the directions have totem animals. You personally also have totem animals that can greatly help you. The workshop includes answering questions to discover your Life Long, Journey, Message, and Shadow animal totems and how understanding these animal s and totems can effect your life.
After Dinner we will discuss principles and concepts of shapeshifting - the idea that you can transform into an animal. This will be followed by a meditation on shapeshifting into a bear since it is so important for you to understand bears since we will be in this natural setting with the possibility of meeting a bear.
"I AM" expansion guided meditation will be given at the waterfall area of Holland Lake on Tuesday. This meditation will take you through the steps of relaxation and breathing to reach a peaceful state. Even if you have never meditated before I think you will enjoy the quieting effect this meditation can have. This meditation will guide you to become and expand into the natural area we will be in, to feel yourself become grounded so well that you are the rock and part of the earth; to expand yourself into the fast flowing water and travel down into the lake and expanding to the tips of the mountains. Relaxation to exhilaration with a connection to the earth is usually felt from this meditation.
