By the time you reach this page, I would imagine you have already seen my work on the site and have something special in mind. At the bottom of the page you will find the ordering area for custom art works. Please let me explain how a custom design order works. 1. Review my site to see the many different styles I have so that you know before you order that I am the right artist to design something for you.

2. Collect/scan photos and pictures of things similar to what you want so that you can e-mail them to me. Make notes about each picture on what you like or do not like about the image you are sending me.

3. Take the time to really think out what you want. Also think of the desired finished size of the art. this is especially important if you wish to get the art work for a tattoo design. Small intricate detailed art can not be made the size of a postage stamp. Be realistic and determine how big you want the final piece for a tattoo.

4. The reason I offer my custom designs so cheap is because I re-sell them unless you purchase the exclusivity for the design.  The first step is to purchase an "INITIAL SKETCH" for $20.00. In many cases you may not need anything other than the 'sketch'. The purpose of the sketch is to allow you to determine if you want me to finish a drawing, if the 'sketch' is enough to get a tattoo, or for you to make comments and changes to the sketch. The charge for the sketch is a flat non-refundable fee for me to e-mail you the sketch. The time it takes to do the initial sketch depends on how many orders are ahead of you. It can be as little as a week but as long as four weeks.

5. IF you have changes, want the drawing lined out or filled in as with a tribal piece, or need the full detail that a finished art work would provide then you would have the option to pay more. How much more depends on the art. When I send you the sketch I will let you know how much more it would be to 'complete' the design. I do give completing art works priority so the turn around time is usually less than two weeks per alteration.tom art tattoo custom art tattoo

This is a detailed drawing but much is lost in the reduction for the web site. This was for the center of a full back piece. The client wanted a tree growing from a book, a wise old tree, and the seasons changing in the tree. Spring starts at the bottom with flowers, turning into lush greens, then fall colors and finally bare branches.
