Ground Zero.  Other than adorning his arm with magnificent artwork, the goal here is to enhance a ten year old tattoo of a panther by redoing the panther and adding a jungle. 6-2-04

The flora here at the inside of the arm are a fuchsia and a bromeliad. In order to complete the entire piece in a realistic manner, light outlines were used in a sketch like pattern to allow the vibrant colors to be the focus instead of a heavy outline of black. In the above picture only black and one color of red was used to create the shading that will be the basis for the light colors later.  6-2-04

Further rotation of his arm shows a poison dart frog on another flower with a pink tarantula sneaking out from under the flower, The contrast of the deep black of the spider will add depth to the tattoo with the vibrant and rich colors of the frog.  6-2-04

Near the rear of the arm displays a large orchid flower that in this first setting was only shaded with a very deep purple. The yellows, reds, and white will be added later. 6-2-04

Addition of  the toucan from side.  6-9-04 Toucan view rotated towards the front of shoulder.  6-9-04

Frontal view of the toucan.  6-9-04

Addition of gorilla and foliage.  6-29-04 Close-up of gorilla line work and shading.  Only blackwork is done so far.  Additions of dark blues and dark purples will finish this fine hominid.  The same type of colorwork will also be incorporated into the panther head.  6-29-04 Colored in treefrog.
